SPOKANE, Wash. – League-leading George Fox shut out Whitworth 9-0 in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match on Saturday afternoon at the Scotford Tennis Center.
The Bruins improved to 4-4 overall and 4-0 in the NWC while the Pirates dropped to 2-10, 1-3.
The closest match of the day came at #2 doubles where Kincaid Norris and Jonathan Hutley pushed the GFU duo of Hunter Fujimori and Alle Banna to a tiebreaker before falling 8-7 (7-4).
None of the singles matches went more than two sets. Hutley won the most games of any Pirate in his #3 singles match with Vahag Psahayan, which ended 6-3, 6-2.
Whitworth will return to action next Saturday with a match at Pacific Lutheran.
