FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Whitworth University men's tennis team fell to undefeated Pacific University 8-1 to start Northwest Conference play on Saturday. The pirates are 2-4 overall (0-1 NWC) while the Boxers are 4-0 (1-0).

Jake Bethards and Jacob Floyd fell 8-7 (10-5) in the #3 doubles match, while Pacific's #1 doubles defeated Sean Singco and Ben Bethards 8-4.

Bethards won at #1 singles over Sean Murphy 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) to give the Pirates their lone point of the day.

The Pirates will travel to McMinnville, Oregon to take on Linfield tomorrow morning at 10.
