Box Score

by Andrew Goodwin, Sports Information Assistant

SPOKANE, Wash. – Sage Ali scored seven goals to lead Whitman to a 21-3 win over Whitworth in Wednesday afternoon's Northwest Conference women's lacrosse contest.

Trinity Frank scored once for the Pirates (0-6, 0-3 NWC) and grabbed three draw controls. Isabel Regonini contributed four goals and three assists for the Blues (3-2, 1-0 NWC).

Whitworth's first goal of the day came from Jordan Cain, who slipped a shot between the crossbar and Whitman goalkeeper Anna Cadigan for her fifth score of the year. The Blues responded with 13 consecutive goals before Frank halted the run by going top-shelf on a free-position shot at the end of the first half.

The Pirates' third and final goal came from Hannah Meador, who grabbed an excellent pass from Liah Gingerich and fired in a man-up goal.

Both Cadigan and Piper Spencer finished with three saves for the Blues. Laura Wells snagged four shots for the Pirates.

The Bucs return to action on Sunday, March 31 when they travel to Puget Sound for a 1 p.m. tilt with the Loggers.
