SPOKANE, Wash. – Megan Whitman and Campbell Vincent scored six goals apiece to lead Whitworth to a 23-4 win over Pacific Lutheran in the season finale Northwest Conference lacrosse contest for both schools on Sunday afternoon at Gonzaga Prep.
The Pirates finish the 2026 season 8-9 overall and 4-4 in the NWC while the Lutes end their second full varsity year 3-13, 1-7.
Whitman's goal total and point total (9) were career-highs in her final game as a Pirate. Vincent added four assists to her goal tally, which is also a career-best for Whitworth's all-time leading scorer.
The Bucs had four hat tricks overall as Jordyn Bennett tallied three goals and three assists, while Rose Frezza scored three times with one assist. Sierra Witte led Whitworth with five assists and five draw controls in her final game as a Pirate.
Whitworth led 9-2 after one quarter and sent the game into a running clock with 11:14 to play in the second quarter. The Bucs led 15-4 at halftime.
The Pirate defense was especially strong in the second half, shutting out PLU and limiting the Lutes to only one shot each in the third and fourth quarters. Whitworth outscored the PLU 8-0 after halftime. PLU was successful on only four of 16 clear attempts.
The Pirates outshot the Lutes 39-7, including a 28-3 edge in shots on goal. PLU had a 15-13 edge in draw controls, but Whitworth forced 28 PLU turnovers while committing only 14. The Bucs also had a 21-11 advantage in ground balls.
Isabella Marchio led the Lutes with two goals and one assist.
