Vincent leads Whitworth's rout of Puget Sound

SPOKANE, Wash. – Led by Campbell Vincent's record-breaking performance, Whitworth rolled to a 26-1 win over visiting Puget Sound in a Northwest Conference lacrosse game on Friday afternoon at the Pine Bowl.

Vincent scored nine goals to break her previous record of eight in one game set last season at Pacific Lutheran.  She added three assists for a total of 12 points, breaking the previous team record of ten set last season. 

Whitworth improved to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the NWC.  The Pirates will finish the 2026 season on Sunday by hosting Pacific Lutheran at Gonzaga Preparatory School.  The Loggers dropped to 4-11, 0-7 and will end their season at Whitman on Sunday.

Sierra Witte and Kierra Paulus scored Whitworth's first two goals in the first 25 seconds of the game and the Pirates never looked back.  The Bucs led 8-0 after one quarter and 16-1 at halftime, playing the final 41 minutes of the contest with a running clock.

Witte finished with five goals and an assist, while Rose Frezza had three goals and one assist.  Amelie Deese scored her first goal of the season, and second of her career, in the third quarter.  Mary Penfield scored her first career goal in the fourth quarter.

The Pirates broke the school record for margin of victory and tied the team record for most goals in one game.  The Bucs defeated Eastern Oregon 26-4 in the 2025 home opener.

Whitworth outshot Puget Sound 46-7, including a 40-4 edge in shots on goal.  The Pirates forced 26 turnovers while committing only 10.  Whitworth won 18 of the 28 draw controls.

Megan Whitman led the way with eight draw controls, five caused turnovers and four ground balls.  Witte won six draw controls.

Kayla Jones played all 60 minutes in goal for the Pirates and saved three shots.

Piper Lewis scored Puget Sound's only goal on a free position shot in the second quarter.  Ebeth Kline made 14 saves for the Loggers.
