SPOKANE, Wash. – The Whitworth men's tennis team suffered another Northwest Conference loss on Sunday, this time 9-0 to visiting George Fox.

The Pirates fell to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the NWC while the Bruins improved to 4-4, 3-1 NWC.

Whitworth's Ben Bethards and Cameron Brewer played the closest doubles match of the day with an 8-3 loss at #3, while the #2 team of Jake Bethards and Nick Hughes fell 8-2.

In singles, Hughes forced a tight first set against Payton Namba at 7-5, but dropped the second set 6-2. #1 Jake Bethards fell to Will Leach 6-2, 6-2.

The Pirates will head to Orlando, Florida on March 25 to face Hamilton, Luther, and Huntingdon in three non-conference matches over spring break.
