Men's Tennis Falls to LCSC

SPOKANE, Wash. – Lewis-Clark State swept all six singles matches on the way to an 8-1 win over Whitworth in a non-conference men's tennis match on Friday evening at the Scotford Tennis Center.

The win was the second of the season for the Warriors (3-1) over the Pirates (2-8).

The teams played the singles contests first on Friday to take advantage of daylight on the outside courts at the Scotford Tennis Center.  LCSC won all six in straight sets.  Whitworth's Chris Engelmann lost to Quentin Wacquez 6-4, 6-2 and Pirate John Talbot fell to Haseeb Khan 6-4, 6-2 in the two closest matches of the day.

Cameron Williams and Drew Brigham defeated Anders Tischer and Jeff Lowndes 8-5 at #1 doubles to give Whitworth its only point of the day.  Talbot teamed with Matt Goebel at #3 and the pair pushed Wacquez and Alberto Sanz to the brink before falling 9-7.

On Saturday Whitworth will travel to Walla Walla to battle defending Northwest Conference champion Whitman.
