SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth closed out its non-conference men's tennis schedule with a 9-0 loss to visiting Lewis-Clark State on Tuesday evening at the Scotford Tennis Center.
The Pirates dropped to 10-7 while the NAIA Warriors improved to 7-7.
Whitworth's closest match in doubles came at #3, while Stefan Dernbach and John Talbot lost 8-6 to Jeff Lowndes and Alberto Sanz.
Two of the singles matches went three sets. Sam Tozer edged Daniel Redfern 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 at #1 singles, while Tyler Oram came back to beat Chris Englemann 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 at #5 singles.
Whitworth will conclude the regular season with a pair of home Northwest Conference matches this weekend. The Pirates host Lewis & Clark on Friday evening and then take on George Fox on Saturday.
