On Tuesday, the Pirates rebounded with a 5-2 win over California Lutheran. In a competitive doubles session, the Kingsmen battled to a pair of wins to grab the first point of the match. Again, Whitworth bounced back and won five of six singles matches. Matthew Morrison, Preacher and Hossack each earned two set wins to give the Bucs the advantage. With the match still up for grabs, Connor Judson defeated his opponent 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 to clinch the match on the No. 4 court.

The Opponents: Pacific enters the weekend with a 5-7 overall record and 5-4 mark in the NWC. Joshua Dela Cruz leads the Boxers with a 6-5 record from the No. 1 singles position and Alexander Kinoshita has a 5-3 mark from the No. 2 position. Jonathan Nguyen and Dawson Hose combine for Pacific's top doubles duo. The Pirates came out on top of a 4-3 battle the last time these teams played on February 21.

Linfield (5-9) holds a 5-4 NWC record heading into this weekend. The Wildcats wrapped up a three-match trip to California this week and will visit Whitman on Saturday prior to the trip to Spokane on Sunday. Brooks Lerfald, who has a 5-8 overall record, is the top singles player for Linfield. Zac Nakajima holds the No. 2 position and the two have paired for an 8-5 doubles record on the No. 1 court. Whitworth beat the Wildcats 5-2 on February 22 in McMinnville.

The NWC Race: Whitman (8-0) controls first place with Whitworth (6-2) holding second. Lewis & Clark (5-3) sits in third while Pacific (5-4) and Linfield (5-4) are tied in fourth. George Fox dropped to 4-4 looking to climb back into the tournament field.

The top four teams in the NWC standings will earn a spot in the NWC Tournament. The tournament will be hosted by the regular season champion.
