Three Pirate swimmers selected to NCAA DIII Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three Whitworth Pirates have been accepted into the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships as individual competitors, according to the official list released by the national office today.

Megan Bonikowsky, Molly Konop and Nathanael Van Liew will represent Whitworth March 18-21 at the Indianapolis Natatorium.

Van Liew was accepted into the meet in the 50-yard freestyle.  His entry time of 20.02 is the 14th-seeded time in the event.  He will also compete in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.

Konop earned her way into the national championships in the women's 200-yard breaststroke.  Her school-record time of 2:19.23 is the 19th-seeded time.  Konop will also race in the 100-yard breaststroke and 50 freestyle.

Bonikowsky also was selected in the 200 breaststroke with an entry time of 2:19.53 (seeded 23rd).  She will also compete in the 100 breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley.

All three are first-time qualifiers for Whitworth.  Konop is a first year Pirate, while Bonikowsky and Van Liew are sophomores.
