INDIANAPOLIS – Megan Bonikowsky and Molly Konop finished 10th and 13th for Whitworth University in the women's 200-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday night at the Indianapolis Natatorium.
By earning second team All-America status, the Pirate pair scored 11 points in the event to help Whitworth finish with 13 in the meet and tie for 33rd place in the final standings.
Bonikowsky qualified 15th out of the morning preliminaries with a time of 2:19.59. In the consolation final of the 200 breaststroke, she moved up five positions after improving her time by .44 seconds to 2:19.25. That time is her personal record.
Konop qualified 11th out of the preliminaries by posting a time of 2:18.68 that broke her school record of 2:19.26 that she set last month at the Northwest Conference Championships. Her scoring time in the consolation final was 2:19.77. Konop also scored in the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday.
Also earlier on Saturday Nathanael Van Liew finished out his meet with a time of 45.78 in the men's 100-yard freestyle, taking 37th place in the preliminaries.
