The Boxers took the doubles point, but the Pirates came out with four, three-set singles wins to secure a victory. The Opponents: Lewis & Clark comes into this weekend at 2-5 overall and 2-1 in conference matches. The River Otters beat Puget Sound and Willamette 6-1 last weekend at home. L&C is led by 2025 second team All-NWC selection Noah Sutin, who is 0-4 this season from the No. 1 position and 3-0 in the No. 2 spot. Kaden Sigurdsson and Kai Wills pair as the top Ott doubles duo. Whitworth has lost 19 consecutive matches to L&C with the last win coming in 2016.
Goerge Fox (3-1, 3-0) travels to Washington this weekend looking to maintain its unblemished conference record. Last week, the Bruins took down Willamette 5-2 and swept Puget Sound 7-0. GFU is led by first-team All-NWC player Zach Moore and second team selection Ikuho Ebisu, who are the top doubles tandem. Keita Shoji is the No. 2 singles player for the Bruins. George Fox holds a nine-match winning streak over the Pirates dating back to 2016.
The Coach: Daniel Redfern enters his third season as head coach of the Whitworth men's tennis program in 2025-26. He holds an 13-29 overall record and 11-13 Northwest Conference mark. Redfern was a two-year standout player for the Pirates, earning first team All-Northwest Conference honors in 2011 and 2012 after transferring to Whitworth from Skagit Valley College.
Looking ahead: The Whitworth men hit the road to play at Puget Sound and Willamette on March 7-8.
