GREENSBORO, N.C. – Zachary Washburn finished 12th in the men's 100-yard freestyle on Saturday at NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Washburn advanced to the consolation finals with the ninth-fastest time in the morning preliminary heats.  He went 44.42, just off his NWC record of 44.06.

In the final, Washburn went 44.73 to finish fourth in the consolation final heat, earning honorable mention All-America recognition for the first time in his career as an individual competitor.  Last season Washburn was part of a relay that scored at the championships and was an honorable mention All-American on a relay.

Washburn completed his sophomore year as the Northwest Conference's record-holder in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles and was the 2023 Co-NWC Men's Swimmer of the Year with Tanner Fillion of Whitman College.
