Carly Hoff races in the 100 freestyle

Swimming sweeps SWOC on Friday night

SPOKANE, Wash. – Carly Hoff won three individual events to lead the Whitworth women, while Zachary Washburn won twice for the Pirate men in a non-conference dual meet sweep of visiting Southwestern Oregon Community College on Friday night at the Megan Thompson Aquatic Center.

Whitworth won the women's meet 81-69 and the men's meet 98-80.

Hoff took first place in the women's 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.22, first in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.13 and first in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.61.

Chamelle Abringe won the women's 200-yard individual medley in 2:22.06 and was unopposed in the 500-yard freestyle (5:38.62).  Grace Oster took first in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:46.96.  Whitworth won the women's meet with only six healthy swimmer.

Washburn sprinted to wins in the 50 freestyle (21.20) and 100 freestyle (46.75).  Isaiah Ross also won twice for the Bucs, taking first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.35) and first in the 500 freestyle (5:01.68).

Noah Clark won the men's 200 freestyle in 1:50.43. 

The teams will compete in a second dual meet on Saturday morning.
