INDIANAPOLIS – Ryan Grady capped Whitworth's participation in the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with a fourth place finish in the men's 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday night at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Competing in an outside lane (8), Grady started fast and held on to move up to fourth place with his time of 1:57.66 in the championship final. Grady qualified eighth, sneaking into the championship final with a time of 1:58.88 in the morning preliminary heat. His finals time was just off the school record of 1:57.57 he set at last month's Northwest Championships.
Grady, Jake Goguen, Finn McClone and Zachary Washburn finished 20th in the preliminaries of the men's 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:02.66.
Washburn and Goguen raced in the men's 100-yard freestyle on Saturday and finished 31st (44.95) and 37th (45.10), respectively.
Emma Thompson finished up her meet by finishing 23rd in the preliminaries of the women's 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.12.
