FOREST GROVE, Ore.—Pacific University rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of Sunday's second game to pull out a sweep of the Northwest Conference baseball doubleheader on Sunday.  The Boxers won the opener 12-2 in seven innings and took the nightcap 7-4.

Pacific's record now sits at 17-7 overall, and 11-4 in NWC play. Whitworth's record falls to 6-13 overall and 5-7 in conference play. The Pirates return to Merkel Field next weekend to play two doubleheaders with Willamette.

Game one—Pacific 12, Whitworth 2
A fifth inning grand slam by Pacific's Chase Anderson helped propel the Boxers over the Pirates in a seven-inning game that was completed early due to the NWC's ten-run rule.

Whitworth took the lead on a single from Luke Bruno that scored Aidan Morrison in the first inning.

Pacific responded with a single from Tanner Johnson that scored Anderson to tie the score 1-1 in the bottom of the first. The Boxers added to their lead when an Ian Blair double scored Tanner Johnson and Ryan Krout.

The Pirates scored their final run of the day in the fourth inning with a single from Joe Howell that scored Jaxen Sweum.

The Boxers pulled away in the fourth with a Tyler Quinn triple that scored Krout and Anderson for a 5-2 lead. Jordan Hara singled to score Quinn, and Johnson doubled to center field to score Hara.

The Boxers added to their lead in the fifth with a grand slam from Anderson to go ahead 11-2.

Johnson's RBI single to right field scored Josh Escobar to win the game 12-2 in the seventh.

Landon Shigeta (1-2) took the loss on the mound for the Bucs.  He gave up ten hits and seven runs in four innings.

Derek Eubanks, who allowed five hits and both runs in six innings, got the win for Pacific.

Game two—Pacific 7, Whitworth 4
A five-run sixth inning allowed the Boxers to rally past the Pirates in the nightcap.

Whitworth scored the first run of the game in the third inning, when Bren Duncan walked with the bases loaded to score Aidan Morrison.

Pacific took the lead in the third when Krout doubled to score Okita, and Quinn singled to center field to score Krout.

The Pirates rallied in the fifth to take back the lead when Sweum bunted and then advanced to second on an error. Bruno and Warner both scored on the play to put Whitworth up 3-2. The Pirates added one more run in the fifth when Riley Cissne reached on a fielder's choice that advanced Ryan Gross to third and scored Sweum.

Lovings doubled in the sixth inning for the Boxers to score Isaac Blair and Tanner Johnson to tie the score 4-4. Then, Anderson hit a three-run-home run that scored Okita and Lovings.

Dylan Owen (0-2) gave up three runs on two hits in just 0.1 innings of relief for Whitworth.

Liam Cammall was the winning pitcher in relief for Pacific, allowing just one hit and one run in three innings.
