SPOKANE, Wash. – Coming off two of the most explosive offensive seasons in Whitworth baseball history, Kyle Memarian and Spencer Shipman claimed All-Region honors on teams announced on Tuesday.

Memarian was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Division III Region X squad as a first team honoree.  He was named second team All-Regional 10 by D3baseball.com.  Shipman made the ABCA/Rawlings list on the second team.

The starting right fielder, Memarian finished the season with a .406 average, becoming the first Whitworth player with back-to-back seasons above .400 in at least 40 years.  He led the Northwest Conference, and ranked among leaders in all of NCAA Division III, in runs (71), hits (73), total bases (128), on-base percentage (.505), slugging average (.711) and OPS (1.216).  He drove in 46 runs.  Memarian excelled in seven post-season games that included the NWC tournament and Montclair, N.J. NCAA Division III Regional.  He batted .452 with five doubles and two home runs.  He had ten RBIs and scored 14 runs.  Memarian had previously earned Northwest Conference Player of the Year recognition for the second season in a row.

Shipman, a fellow first team All-NWC honoree with Memarian, batted .331 in 2026 with 12 home runs and 49 RBIs as a starting shortstop.  He battled through injuries that caused him to miss much of the non-conference schedule and the first NWC series against Puget Sound.  Despite that, Shipman had the second highest totals for RBIs and home runs in the conference.  He was the NWC's Player of the Week on April 13th after batting .438 with eight RBIs and five runs scored to lead Whitworth to a 4-0 record against Linfield and Lewis & Clark.

Memarian and Shipman helped lead the Pirates to a, NWC title with a 20-4 record, the first time a school has reached 20 wins since 2014.  The Bucs went on to claim the 2026 NWC tournament with victories over Puget Sound and Linfield.  Whitworth advanced to the Montclair Regional, where the team battled back through the loser's bracket to force a final "if necessary" championship game against 9th-ranked Endicott.  The Pirates finished 31-16, tying a school record for wins in one season.
