SPOKANE, Wash. – Many Pirates set career-highs on Thursday and Friday as the Whitworth track and field team hosted a two-day meet at the Boppell Track that included a decathlon and heptathlon.

Seven Pirates were among the 16 athletes who competed in the men's decathlon. Nick McGill won the combined event with 6,720 points, Travis Herrera placed second (5,707), Joe Tingstad finished fourth (5,672) and Tyler Rohrman took seventh (5,367).

McGill set career-bests in the 110-meter hurdles (15.64) and the long jump (22' 2.5"), which were his highest-scoring events. Herrera set personal bests in five events, including the long jump (21' 3.25"). Tingstad recorded personal bests in four events, which included all three throwing events.

Madison Peffers represented the Pirates in the women's heptathlon, placing fifth of seven athletes in her first outdoor multi with a score of 3,311.
