NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – The Whitworth men's golf team stumbled out of the blocks on the first day of the 2026 Northwest Conference Tournament.
The Pirates finished the first round in ninth place out of nine schools with a score of 307, seven strokes behind Puget Sound in eighth place and 30 strokes behind first place Linfield.
Max Hosfeld led Whitworth with a round of 72 (+1) and is in 11th place individually. Linfield's Brody Landaker leads after shooting a 67 (-4).
The tournament, and the 2025-26 NWC men's golf season, wraps up with Sunday's second round which begins at 9:00 am.
