SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth University fell 6-1 in a midweek non-conference men's tennis match against visiting Lewis-Clark State College on Tuesday at Scotford Tennis Center.
The Warriors (7-7 overall) earned their second win over the Pirates (9-5) this season.
Despite the challenging opponent, several Bucs entered the lineup for the first time this season. Two of which were Colby Cinqmars and Colebrook Sutherland, who combined for a 6-2 victory on the No. 3 doubles court, the lone doubles victory for Whitworth.
Connor Judson provided the match point for the Bucs with a 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 1-0 (10-7)) three-set win in his first match on the No. 1 singles court. Easton Weir battled hard in the No. 2 singles position before falling in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-3)). Landon LaBrie played in his fourth match of the season and first from the No. 3 spot. Dalton Polesky, Sutherland and Cinqmars each competed in their first singles match of the season. Each fell in two sets.
The Whitworth men return their focus to Northwest Conference action with a match at George Fox on Friday and Lewis & Clark on Saturday.
