SPOKANE, Wash. –Bob Castle has submitted his resignation as head softball coach at Whitworth University following the 2025 season, according to Director of Athletics Tim Demant.

Castle was the Pirates' head coach for six seasons.

"Bob stepped in for us during a challenging transition and I appreciate his service to the team in this role," Demant said. 

Castle took over on an interim basis in the summer of 2019 and became permanent following the 2020 Covid-interrupted campaign.  He led Whitworth to the Northwest Conference tournament three times from 2021 through 2023.  His final record as head coach was 89-116.
