Whitworth wrapped up competition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a trio of All-American performances on Friday at Spire Institute.
Brianna Tira was the first Pirate in action and competed in the women's high jump. She cleared 1.6 meters (5'-3") on her first attempt to finish tied for 15th place, earning second team All-America status. Tira was unable to clear the next height of 1.65 meters (5'-5') in her following three attempts.
Two Pirates competed in the women's shot put. Amblessed Okemgbo scored a point with an eighth place finish and earned first team All-American honors in her second event of the weekend. Okemgbo's mark was 13.92 meters (45'-8") on her second throw.
Madison Carr landed herself in the shot put finals with a 13.8 meter (45'-4.5") hurl on her second attempt. In her final throw, Carr's improved mark of 13.91 meters (45'-7.75") propelled her into ninth place and to second team All-America status.
Six of the seven participating athletes earned All-America honors over two days of competition. Whitworth's women scored eight points, tied for eighth place in the team scores at the end of Friday's events.
