LA CROSSE, Wis. –  Adam Sessions led another impressive showing for Whitworth with four All-American performances on the final day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex.

Sessions broke the school record in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 197'-11", surpassing the previous record of 196'-4" held by Keegan Shea since 2014. The record-setting mark on his second attempt of the day resulted in a third-place finish and first team All-America honors.

Two Pirates competed in the men's javelin. Cody Wheeler, the 2024 javelin national champion, struggled in last season's national meet but bounced back with a sixth-place finish today. His best mark was 214'-3" after improving on each of his first four attempts. Tristan Hiller joined Wheeler and finished 13th with a throw of 196'-11". Wheeler earned first-team All-America honors and Hiller earned second team recognition.

On the women's side, Devyn Chelin repeated her success at the 2025 national meet with another seventh-place finish in the javelin. This time, she launched a personal best mark of 141'-7" on her second attempt, nearly nine feet better than her national mark a year ago.

After an All-America performance in the shot put on Friday, Madison Carr competed in the women's hammer throw in her second event of the weekend. She came into the meet with the seventh ranked mark but finished 19th with a distance of 167'-2".

All nine Pirates that performed in the three-day national championship meet earned All-America recognition with top 16 marks in their event. The top eight finishers in any event receive first team honors and those who finish 9-16 earn second team honors.

The Whitworth women finished 12th in the final team standings with 20 points scored. The men placed 18th with 13 total points.
