Whitworth men take second in final golf tuneup

TUMWATER, Wash. - The Whitworth men's golf team tuned up for the 2025 Northwest Conference tournament by taking second place over the weekend at the South Puget Sound Community College Invitational played at Tumwater Valley Golf Club.

The Pirates shot 297 each day to finish with a final score of 594 (+18).  Bellevue CC won the tournament with a score of 591.  The final team scores were: Bellevue 591, Whitworth 594, Pacific Lutheran 601, Puget Sound 612, SPSCC 624, Olympic CC 654.

Jacob Rawley finished fourth and Andy Hobson tied for fifth to lead the Pirates individually.  Rawley posted a two-day total of 72-75 – 147 (+3), while Hobson scored 75-73 – 148.

Bellevue's Isaac Elaimy earned medalist honors with a final score of 69-70 – 139 (-5).

Aaron Storem (75-74 – 149) tied for seventh place and Sam Pauly (75-75 – 150) took ninth place.  Gabe Cach (76-79 – 155) tied for 16th place, while Mathew Durkin (80-78 – 158) tied for 22nd place.

The 2025 Northwest Conference tournament will take place on April 20th and 21st at Michelbook Country Club in McMinnville, Oregon.
