McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Whitworth men finished the 2024-25 season with an eighth-place finish at the 2025 Northwest Conference tournament on Sunday and Monday at Michelbook Country Club.

The Pirates shot 311-306 – 617, falling from seventh place to eighth place during Monday's second round.  Host Linfield won the tournament, while Willamette University took second in the tournament and used its big lead in the standings to win the 2024-25 NWC championship.

The final team scores were: Linfield 581, Willamette 597, Whitman 598, George Fox 605, Pacific Lutheran and Lewis & Clark 609, Pacific (Ore.) 616, Whitworth 617, Puget Sound 625.

Aaron Storem shot 77-75 – 152 (+8) to tie for 16th place and lead the Pirate individuals.  Matthew Durkin posted a score of 78-75 – 153 (+9) to tie with four other players for 18th place.

Linfield's Douglas Bailey shot 76-66 – 142 to tie George Fox's Truman Fletcher, who posted a 71-71 – 142 atop the individual leaderboard.  Bailey earned medalist honors on the second playoff hole.

Sam Pauly (77-78 – 155) tied for 27th place and Jacob Rawley (79-78 – 157) was tied for 30th.  Andy Hobson (80-85 – 165) finished in a tie for 42nd place.

The 2024-25 Northwest Conference standings were determined by a cumulative score from the 2024 NWC Fall Classic, 2025 NWC Spring Classic and 2025 NWC Tournament.  Whitworth finished fifth in the fall, seventh in the Spring Classic and eighth in the NWC tournament, leading to a seventh-place finish in the league table.  Willamette won both the NWC Fall Classic and NWC Spring Classic to build a big enough cushion to withstand Linfield's surge in the NWC Tournament.

The 2024-25 NWC final results were:
1. Willamette (1737 total strokes)
2. Whitman (1744)
3. Linfield (1753)
4. George Fox (1773)
5. Pacific Lutheran (1781)
6. Lewis & Clark (1788)
7. Whitworth (1793)
8. Puget Sound (1822)
