Whitworth kept the match scoreless through the first 77 minutes despite the stats heavily in favor on Southwestern. Greyson Pinto scored unassisted in the 78th minute for the match's first goal. Michael Grimm added an insurance goal ten minutes later.
Dax Flanders made ten saves during his first start in goal for Whitworth. Tucker Jackson did not have to make a save for Southwestern.
