Pacific women run past Whitworth

SPOKANE, Wash – Brilie Kovaloff scored 20 points and Shaade Williams added 13 off the bench as Pacific topped Whitworth 86-47 on Saturday in the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

Pacific (4-3 overall, 1-1 NWC) has won seven straight versus Whitworth and it leaned on 46 points off the bench in this one as 13 players scored.

Whitworth (1-5 overall, 0-2 NWC) was outrebounded 43-31 and outscored in the paint 38-12 in its fifth consecutive loss. Kimberly Dewey led the Pirates with nine.

The offensive struggles continued for the Pirates who shot just 14-57 (4-26 from three), falling behind early against a Boxers' offense that was hot from the jump.

The Boxers broke it open in the second quarter as they outscored Whitworth 26-8 in the frame behind nine scorers to take a 51-19 halftime lead, they shot 62.5% in the first quarter.

Whitworth put together an 8-0 run early in the fourth as Dawson Driggs, Ashley Neilsen, and Sydney McLean each scored. The Pirates outscored the Boxers 18-13 in the fourth quarter.

Pacific will host Carleton College on Dec. 13 while Whitworth will be back in action against Colorado College in Walla Walla on Friday. The Pirates won't be back at home until Jan 2.
