GENEVA, Ohio – Whitworth University's Amelia Hewson broke her own school record in the women's 100-meter hurdles on Saturday, but finished ninth in the finals and did not score.
Hewson crossed the line in 14.17, beating her entry time and previous school record (14.19) by two-one hundredths of a second. Birgen Nelson of Gustavus Adolphus was the winner with a time of 13.44, breaking the previous NCAA Division III record of 13.60.
The top eight finishers score points and earn All-America recognition.
Hewson competed for Whitworth in both the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2022.
