Box Score SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth University will roll into the 2021 Northwest Conference women's tennis tournament riding an eight-match winning streak after Sunday's 9-0 victory over visiting Willamette in the regular season finale for both schools.
The Pirates (10-5) will face George Fox at 6:00 pm on Friday in the NWC tournament semifinals as the #2 seed. Regular season champion Linfield will host the tournament.
Whitworth had little trouble handing the Bearcats (1-10) their tenth straight loss. Whitworth won all three doubles matches and only gave up one game during an 8-1 win by Kara Nelson and Meredith Bedford at #3 doubles.
Hannah Plank posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win at #4 singles. Kyndal Locati nearly duplicated that result with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #3 singles. The closest match came at #2 singles, but Avery Liening still won comfortably by a 6-3, 6-1 margin.
