WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Jacob Barsher scored seven and a half minutes into overtime to give Whitman a 1-0 win over visiting Whitworth in a Northwest Conference men's soccer match on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues (8-3 overall, 4-3 NWC) won their fifth straight match against the Pirates (5-5-1, 4-3).
While Whitman had a 10-5 edge in overall shots through regulation, Whitworth had a slight edge in shots on-goal (3-2) until Barsher scored the winner in the first extra period.
Andrew Wolotira made a pair of saves in goal for the Pirates, while Colby Ramsey made three stops for the Blues.
Whitworth will back on the road next weekend at George Fox and Pacific (Ore.).
