SPOKANE, Wash. – Northwest Conference-leading Lewis & Clark College defeated Whitworth 7-2 in a women's tennis match on Saturday at the Scotford Tennis Center.
The visiting Pioneers improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the NWC. The Pirates dropped to 3-5, 2-2.
L&C took two of the three doubles matches. Avery Liening and Marissa Kirk earned Whitworth's point with an 8-4 victory over Chloe Sermet and Madelyn Landerfelt at #2 doubles.
Jennifer Adams picked up the Pirates' only point in singles. She defeated Natasha Hood 6-3, 6-0 at #3 singles.
Whitworth will look to break a two-match losing streak when the Pirates host George Fox on Sunday.
