SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth used the momentum of three 8-0 doubles victories to roll to a 9-0 win over visiting Willamette in a Northwest Conference women's tennis match on Sunday morning.

The Pirates earned their second win of the weekend to improve to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the NWC. The Bearcats fell to 0-6, 0-5.

Bella Hoyos and Erica Lee shut out Alexis Gjurasic and Mikaila Smith at #1, while Jennifer Adams and Emma Jo Wiley blanked Rachel Kong and Mina Mizutani at #2 doubles.  Paige Rohrbach and Emily Sandquist completed the doubles sweep against Katie Adams and Hannah Andres.  All three doubles contests finished with 8-0 scores.

In addition, three of the singles matches were shutouts with the Pirates winning 6-0, 6-0:  Hoyos over Smith at #1, Lee over Mizutani at #4 and Rohrbach over Adams at #6 singles.

Whitworth's match with Bellevue CC scheduled for later on Sunday has been cancelled.
