Jessica Saugen is in her third season as an assistant coach after two years as a graduate assistant for the Pirates. While coaching during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, she earned her Master's degree in Administrative Non-Profit Leadership.
Saugen was a two-year standout at Whitworth after transferring from the Community Colleges of Spokane. In 2018 she became the Northwest Conference Player of the Year and a first team All-West Region honoree when she led the conference in kills per set (4.12). She was an honorable mention AVCA Division III All-American. At the time she finished with CCS, she ranked eighth all-time in kills for the Sasquatch.
