After an accomplished career as a Pirate player, Garrett Long joins the Whitworth University men's basketball coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.
Long is from Wenatchee, Washington and began his playing career at NAIA Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where he played 48 games and made 15 starts over two seasons. Long transferred to Whitworth in 2023 and played 15 games for the Bucs as a junior. Last season, Long started all 26 games for the Pirates at point guard and earned first-team All-Northwest Conference honors after averaging 15.9 points and a team-high 3.5 assists per game. Long also earned 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition.Â
