Ian Kolste

Ian Kolste, a former Whitworth quarterback and interim offensive coordinator, returned to campus to become the full time offensive coordinator for the Bucs in 2022 and he heads into his second season in that role.

Kolste was Whitworth’s offensive coordinator on an interim basis for the 2020 Covid-19 season that took place in February and March of 2021.  Whitworth went 4-0 during that campaign.

Kolste served two seasons as Whitworth’s receivers coach in 2018 and 2019.

Following the last game in March of 2021, Kolste went to Southern Utah University, where he was an offensive quality control assistant working with quarterbacks in the spring of 2021.

Kolste spent the fall of 2021 as a defensive quality control assistant with Eastern Washington University, working with linebackers.

Kolste was a record-setting quarterback for the Pirates.  The 2017 Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Kolste retired as Whitworth’s all-time leader in total offense (10,467), passing yards (10,124), passing touchdowns (85), pass completions (946) and pass attempts (1,424).  He had a record of 26-6 as the Pirates’ starting QB.Â
