Alex Land

Alex Land joined the Whitworth staff in the Spring of 2022 as the Pirates' offensive line coach and was elevated to the title of Run Game Coordinator following the 2023 season.

Land came to Whitworth from Valparaiso University, where he was the tight ends coach in the fall of 2022 and coached the defensive ends for the 2021 season. Valparaiso’s defense led the conference in sacks and tackles for loss while finishing second in the conference in rushing yards allowed.  Prior to Valparaiso, Land provided quality control for the offensive line and tight ends at UC Davis. The Aggies finished the 2021 Spring season at #13 in the FCS. Land has also coached the offensive line at Greensboro College (NC) and Bonneville High School (UT).

Land is an Edmond, Oklahoma native who attended college at Weber State in Ogden, Utah. He was a three-year starter on the offensive line and played in every game of his four eligible years. Land was selected to be a team captain as a senior. Land earned a bachelor's degree in physical education. After graduating, Land was on staff at Weber State working with the offensive line before continuing his playing career in the Arena Football League. 

Land lives in Spokane with his wife Shay.
