Cash Ulrich is a highly successful baseball coach with a strong emphasis on recruiting, infield defense, offensive run production, mental performance training, and complete player development. Beginning his collegiate coaching career in 2015 as associate head coach at Yakima Valley College (2015-2022), he contributed to a consistently competitive program that posted impressive records, including a 2016 NWAC Championship (34-17), 2018 NWAC runner-up finish (44-11), and multiple 30+ win seasons. YVC developed and assisted in scholarship opportunities for over 90 players to the 4 year college level during his time, including his personal development of four Division I transfer shortstops. Ulrich also gained valuable experience coaching at the high school and American Legion levels in Spokane, serving as head coach of the Spokane Bandits AAA team in 2016. He coached in the prestigious WCL collegiate summer league for the Wenatchee AppleSox and Yakima Valley Pippins highlighted by his last season in 2021: 29–19 playoff appearance, reached WCL Championship Series for first and only time in franchise history. Since joining Whitworth University as an assistant coach in 2024, he has been instrumental in the Pirates' dramatic resurgence, helping guide the team from back-to-back last-place finishes (2022: 10-28; 2023: 11-27) to strong campaigns in 2024 (28-14, third in NWC & NWC Tournament Runner-up) and 2025 (29-18, second in NWC & NWC Tournament Champions—the program's first championship and regional appearance since 2015). A Gonzaga Prep and Eastern Washington University graduate, Ulrich remains dedicated to building resilient, well-rounded athletes who succeed on the field and off the field.
