The Whitworth Cheerleading program which performs for at football and men's and women's basketball games. The team also cheers at some away football and basketball games. The Cheerleading squad performs at other events, such as Pirate Mania, where they showcase their stunting, dancing and tumbling. Whitworth Cheer also supports Whitworth events such as Move-In Day, Pirate Night, Golf Classic, and more to enrich the university experience as a whole. As a part of the Whitworth Athletics program, the Whitworth University Cheerleading team embodies Whitworth's mission of providing an education of the mind and heart.

Participation Requirements:
-Must be enrolled in Whitworth University as a full time student
-Must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
-Must be in strong physical condition
-Must have time management skills and a positive attitude

Time Commitment:
Currently, the cheer squad practices 2-3 times per week in the evening for two hours, as well as two morning lifts per week, and one captain-led material morning practice per week. Whitworth Cheer also cheers at all football and men's and women's home basketball games, as well as some local away games. Additionally, Whitworth Cheer has many appearances at Whitworth and in the greater Spokane community. Pirate cheerleaders are expected to schedule classes around practice/lift/game times and need to be on campus for Jan Term unless arrangements have been made with the coaching staff. The cheerleading season typically ranges from mid-August until March.
