WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Alyssa Baird led a highly-efficient Whitworth offense to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-12 win over host Whitman in the finale of the Whit Classic volleyball tournament on Saturday afternoon at the Sherwood Center.
The Pirates finished the tournament 3-0.
Baird, the Northwest Conference's Rookie of the Year in 2025, finished with 16 kills and only two errors for a hitting percentage of .438. As a team Whitworth committed only four errors in the match and hit .382. Lindsey Short had nine kills, Lauren Kremer had eight and Bryanna Dodson added six. None of those three had a single error. Madison Pridon, a first-year setter, directed the offense with 22 assists and added a team-high 13 digs. Haylie Steel served four of the team's eight aces.
Milla Hansen led the Blues (1-2) with six kills.
Whitworth will return to action next weekend at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational in Lincoln.
