NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – The Whitworth women's golf team made its move on Saturday during the first round of the 2026 Northwest Conference Tournament at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.
The Pirates shot 313 to take the lead over league-leading George Fox (318) atop the tournament leader board. If Whitworth can somehow make up 14 more strokes on Sunday, the Pirates can catch the Bruins for the NWC crown.
Erin Pierce shot a 76 to share the first-round lead individually with three other players in the tournament. Carolyn Rose (78) is tied for fifth, while Stella Fergin (79) is tied for seventh. Ashley Maki (80) is tied for 11th.
The tournament, and the 2026 NWC women's golf season, will wrap up with Sunday's second round, beginning at 9:00 am.
