SPOKANE, Wash. – Kenny Love will not return as women's basketball coach at Whitworth University in 2026-27, Director of Athletics Tim Demant announced on Tuesday.
"From his time as an All-American player, assistant coach, and head coach, Coach Love has made significant contributions to the Pirate basketball programs" Demant said. "We thank him for his many contributions and wish him well in the future."
Love was the women's coach for four seasons from 2022-23 through 2025-26. He compiled a record of 32-68 over that time, including a 22-42 mark within the Northwest Conference. The Pirates finished the 2025-26 campaign 5-20 overall and 4-12 within the NWC.
A former Northwest Conference Player of the Year (2015) and All-American for the men's basketball team, Love served as an assistant on the men's staff under Matt Logie and Damion Jablonski for five seasons.
Whitworth will begin searching for its next head women's basketball coach immediately.
