SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth University fell 5-2 in a non-conference women's tennis rematch with Lewis-Clark State College to close a three-match weekend at Scotford Tennis Center.
The Warriors (7-6) extended their winning streak to 10 over the Pirates, who moved to 7-4 on the season.
Faith Kert and Clara Todd secured a 6-3 win from the No .1 doubles position, something they were unable to do in the team's first matchup, to even the score early. Audrey Judson was yet again a bright spot for the Bucs, helping clinch the doubles point alongside Olivia Corbett with their eighth straight doubles win (7-5).
Judson continued to impress from the No. 4 singles position, providing the lone singles point for Whitworth. Her 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) three-set win was her 10th straight singles victory of the season. Kert was also able to take her opponent to three sets from the No. 2 position but couldn't come away with the win. The remaining four matches went to LCSC in two sets.
The Pirate women will embark on a three-match trip to California next weekend. The Bucs will visit Chapman on March 22, Redlands on March 23 and Whittier on March 24.
