SPOKANE, Wash. – Whitworth earned its first win of the 2026 spring season with a 6-1 dominant victory over Pacific (Ore.) in a Northwest Conference women's tennis match on Saturday at Scotford Tennis Center.

The Pirates (2-1 overall, 1-1 NWC) earned their first over the Boxers (2-2, 2-1 NWC) since 2023.

Despite dropping the No. 1 doubles match, Whitworth earned the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and 3 positions. Paige Oliver and Jordan Turner-Esposito cruised to a 6-1 win before Olivia Corbett and Audrey Judson battled to a narrow 7-6 (7-5) win to secure the point.

Faith Kert, Oliver, and Turner-Esposito each earned their first singles wins of the season. Turner-Esposito came out with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 3 match, Oliver won 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 position and Kert followed with a 6-3, 7-5 hard-fought victory at the No. 2 spot.  Josie Kellogg continued her strong first season with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 6 position.

Pacific's Mia Yamaguchi fought for a 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) three-set win over Corbett to prevent the sweep.

The Pirate women will look to get their second win of the weekend on Sunday against visiting Linfield at 11:00 am.
