SPOKANE, Wash. – Addyson Gallatin poured in 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead Whitworth to a 76-58 win over visiting Lewis & Clark in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Friday night at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

The Pirates (5-17 overall, 4-9 NWC) swept the season series against the River Otters (6-16, 3-10).  Gallatin's point total surpassed her previous career-high of 24 points and she tied her career rebound high.

The Pirates trailed only once in the first half, 4-3 just over two minutes into the game.  Whitworth caught fire, making five of six three-pointers in the opening quarter on the way to 26 points and a 26-16 lead.

The Pirates scored the first seven points of the second quarter to open their largest lead of the half at 33-16.  CC Size hit another trey in that run.  L&C trimmed the margin to 39-29 on Ali McCauley's jumper before the Bucs went into halftime ahead 41-29 when Gallatin hit two free throws with 16 seconds left in the second.  Gallatin already had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists by halftime.

Whitworth put the game away with a 19-4 run over the second half of the third quarter.  After L&C got within 44-36 on a three-pointer by Divinity Singleton, Peterson answered with a jumper at the other end and Gallatin followed with a three-pointer.  By the time Peterson drained a pair of free throws with two-tenths of a second left in the period, the Pirates had taken a 63-40 lead.  Gallatin and Peterson each had five points in the run.

Whitworth continued to pull away into the fourth quarter, opening a 74-47 lead on Brenna Gilchrist's layup with 4:47 to go.  The River Otters were able to trim the lead down the stretch as both teams emptied the benches.

Gallatin also led the team with seven assists, nearly pulling off the Pirates' first triple double since 2011.  Peterson added 19 points and Ava DePew grabbed 12 boards for the Bucs. Whitworth had a 51-26 advantage in rebounds.

McCauley scored 13 points and Lily Jordan added 10, both off the bench for L&C.

Whitworth will finish out its home schedule by hosting George Fox on Saturday night.
