GREENSBORO, N.C. – After a flawless season in the field, Whitworth infielder Austin Paul earned a spot on the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III region 10 All-Defensive team, as announced by ABCA last week.

The All-Defensive team selection process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee and voted on by members of the ABCA.

Paul, a junior second baseman from Redmond, Wash., was one of 10 Northwest Conference players to finish the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. He recorded 54 putouts and 54 assists in 108 chances in the field. At the plate, Paul hit .247 with 24 hits and 15 RBIs.

Paul was a big reason the Pirates finished third in the NWC in fielding percentage (.969) for the second consecutive season.

Whitworth closed the season with 29-18 overall record (15-9 NWC), a NWC Tournament title, and its fourth trip to the NCAA Div. III Tournament in program history.
