NEWBERG, Ore. – Neither visiting Whitworth University or host George Fox University could find the back of the net in a scoreless Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Saturday at Austin Sports Complex.
Despite earning a point in the standings, the Pirates (0-4-4, 0-3-2 NWC) were held without a goal for the fourth consecutive match. The Bruins moved to 0-4-5, 0-3-3 NWC.
George Fox had a pair of point blank first half chances that Paige Broadrick was able to keep out of the net, including a one-on-one kick save to her right. George Fox outshot the Bucs 7-2 in the first half with five on net, all saved by Broadrick.
The Whitworth attack came out strong in the second half with several chances to take the lead.
