NEWBERG, Ore. – A pair of Whitworth student-athletes established personal records in the multi-events on Wednesday and Thursday at the George Fox last chance meet.
JJ Martin posted a score of 6,188 points in the decathlon, finishing third in the event. Despite the fact that she was the only competitor in the heptathlon, Bree Rawls scored 4,166 points for her own personal record. Martin's best events were the high jump (723 points) and long jump (716 points). Rawls scored 722 in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.94 and 678 in the high jump.
Solo Hines won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.66, just off his personal and school record of 10.62.
AbbieJo Carlson won the women's hammer throw in her final collegiate event with a mark of 163'-7".
Luke Davis was the runner-up in the discus with a distance of 157'-4".
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 25-27 in Rochester, N.Y.
