SPOKANE, Wash. – Jeremy Payne has resigned from his position as men's soccer coach at Whitworth University, according to Pirate Director of Athletics Tim Demant.
"We are thankful for the three years Jeremy led the program," Demant said. "He effectively led the team through uncertain times in college athletics. We wish him well in his next endeavors."
Payne finished 19-24-6 over his three seasons, one of which was the 2020-21 schedule played in February and March, due to COVID-19. Whitworth finished 3-7-1 during that campaign and 16-17-5 over the two years since. Payne went 12-13-3 against Northwest Conference opponents over the last two seasons.
Payne came to Whitworth from Eastern University in St. David's, Pennsylvania, where he led the Eagles to a record of 42-17-5 over three seasons. He is a graduate of Messiah College (Pa.), where he was the NSCAA Division III Player of the Year in 2012 and 2014.
