SPOKANE, Wash. – The Whitworth track and field teams got a first place finish, three national-list improvements and three school records this weekend during the Whitworth Indoor Invitational at the Podium in downtown Spokane.

Solo Hines won the men's 60-meter dash in 6.79, his second win of the season and the second-best time of his career behind only the 6.71 he went last month.

JJ Martin finished second in the heptathlon with a score of 4677, his PR and now the 17th-best mark this season in NCAA Division III.

Adam Callahan broke his own record in the men's mile, taking seventh place in 4:15.84.

Renee Tiumalu had a huge improvement in the shot put while finishing third.  Her PR of 43'-5" is now ranked 23rd in DIII and a new Pirate indoor record.

Amelia Hewson tied her Whitworth indoor record in the 60-meter hurdles while finishing fourth in 8.89.  Her mark is 16th in NCAA Division III.

Madelyn Buckley had her own PR in the women's mile with seventh place time of 5:15.56.

Bree Rawls finished eighth in the pentathlon with a score of 3,059.

Whitworth will now transition toward outdoor competition, beginning the first weekend of March at the Ed Boitano Invitational at the University of Puget Sound.

Hines (60 meters), and perhaps Hewson (60 hurdles), will compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships March 10-11 in Birmingham, Alabama.
