SPOKANE, Wash. – Visiting Pacific Lutheran scored two first half goals to shut out Whitworth 2-0 in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon.
The Lutes (12-1 overall, 8-1 NWC) duplicated their 2-0 decision over the Pirates (7-4-2 overall, 4-3-2 NWC) from earlier in the season.
Sawyer Anderson got PLU on the board in the 20th minute with her second goal of the year, a rocket into the top-right corner of the net.
Keila Kruse finished off a cross from Ashlee Gormley in the 35th minute for her first goal.
Whitworth was unable to get a serious offense threat generated as PLU held a 14-5 lead in overall shots and a 9-0 edge in shots on-goal.
Kate Nelson made seven saves for Whitworth to keep the Pirates in the match.
The Pirates will try to bounce back on Sunday when they host first place Puget Sound.
